W2CB #43: Liberty, a Plant of Rapid Growth

Hi, everyone! Sybrina here with our new Words 2 Craft By challenge... and a big welcome to our newest followers.  :)

Appropriately, our July into August words come to us from George Washington.

Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.

This challenge, we are thrilled to welcome the wonderfully talented Marsha as our Guest I-Teamer. Thanks so much for joining us, Marsha!

So, let's take a look at our I-Team's handiwork.... and our variety of interpretations! About the only thing our projects have in common are their red, white, and blue palettes. Guess the moral of this story is that there's no need to limit yourself to the "liberty" portion of the quote.  :)

So, how will you interpret these words? Link up a card/project below for a chance to win a $10  e-certificate at the online retailer of your choice. See you in the gallery!

W2CB #42 - Keep Love in Your Heart

Hello! Hope everyone is having a great weekend and doing some crafting. This is Marty and I'm here to remind you that there's still time to play along with our current challenge. This month's words come to us from Oscar Wilde.

                                                          Keep love in your heart.

I have been in the mood to play with my doll stamps lately and couldn't resist making a bride. This isn't for MY daughter, but someday I'll be making one for her! If you'd like to learn more about my project, click here.

Weddings certainly do come to mind for the month of June when we're thinking about love, but there's also so many other occasions that love is a part of and that Sybrina previously mentioned: anniversaries, graduation, new babies, a special wish for a friend. Show us your love by linking up below and you might be the lucky winner of a $10 gift certificate from the e-tailer of your choice. Who wouldn't LOVE that???

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

W2CB #42 - Keep Love in Your Heart

Hi, everyone! Sybrina here with our June/July Words 2 Craft By Challenge. This month's words come to us from Oscar Wilde.

Keep love in your heart.

When we were choosing this month's words, we had weddings and anniversaries on our minds. But, who knows? Maybe they'll bring thoughts of sons/daughters leaving home after graduation... or newborn babies.... or, in my case, a retirement wish for a friend.  :)

Let's see how our W2CB I-Teamers interpreted Mr. Wilde's romantic words. This month, we welcome Guest I-Teamer Autumn, who created a simply beautiful card. Thanks so much, Autumn, for joining us this month.  We're so glad you did.  :)

So, what do these words inspire in you? Link up your interpretation below for a chance to win $10 at the e-tailer of your choice.  :)

W2CB #40: N-U-M-B-E-R M-O-U-S-E

Hi, everyone! Sybrina here with our April/May Words 2 Craft By Challenge. But, before we get to this month's words, we want to share news about changes to our I-Team.

Sadly, it's true that all good things must come to an end. Annie of Pawsitive Thoughts by Annie is leaving our merry band of card makers. We want to thank Annie for all she's done for W2CB these last three years and wish her all the best in her future endeavors, including her volunteer efforts for a dog rescue group. Big surprise there, huh?!

We are thrilled to announce that Tina of Kristina's Art Corner is our newest I-Teamer to our team! You've probably seen Tina's lovely creations in our W2CB galleries, and are so excited to welcome, her to our W2CB team.  :)

And. now for our April/May words, which come to us from Mickey Mouse.

Arithmetic is being able to count to twenty without taking off your shoes.

Truth be told, we wanted to do something fun with numbers for the month of April. In addition to numbers, you could go with a school theme... maybe getting a head start on end-of-the-year teacher thank yous. And, of course, you can never go wrong with anything Mickey/Disney.

Let's see what our I-Teamers came up with, starting with our newest member... who focused on the numbers when making her card.

There's a $10 gift certificate to the online merchant of her/his choice to our challenge winner.  :)

So, how do you spell i-n-s-p-i-r-a-t-i-o-n?  Show us HERE!

W2CB #39: Proverbs & Blessings

Hi W2CB friends!  Annie here and we're glad you're back!  We had so many awesome entries last month and we can't wait to see your beautiful projects for our latest challenge:  Proverbs & Blessings.

Your quote inspiration this month comes from an Irish proverb:

A good friend is like a four-leaf clover: hard to find and lucky to have.

We know that St. Patrick's Day will come and go during this challenge, but don't let that stop you!  Be creative and link up any project that has a proverb or blessing, is friendship-themed, has a lucky theme, contains anything Irish, or is just primarily shamrock green.

Let's take a look at what our Guest I-Teamers came up with to inspire you.  We have three awesome designers this month!  Thank you, ladies, for joining us this month with your wonderful projects!

And the inspiration continues with the rest of the I-Team:

So, are you feeling lucky yet?  There's a $15.00 gift certificate from up for grabs this month to the winner!  You can shop for anything your heart desires from cardstock, stamps, dies, inks, etc. Lots of brands to choose from for one lucky W2CB entry!

We hope you'll join us this month and are looking forward to seeing your projects!  This challenge will close on Wednesday, April 5th.

W2BC # 38 - Celebrations

Bobbi here for the Words 2 Craft By mid-challenge inspiration.

I have been subscribing to the SU! Paper Pumpkin, but the kits are not always my taste.  The December kit was for a memory book - not my thing.  But, the acetate pages were perfect for a project that has been in my head for years.... making Happy Day Planners for my siblings!

I have a page for every month, and family celebrations are included in the calendar. Each page is 5" x 7".  I made the calendar in Word, and layered with a pretty gold card stock onto gray and white patterned paper.

My Mother's greatest fear was that we would no longer be a family after she died. I have listened to and read about so many stories about sibling fighting over end of life care and possessions. Despite there being 5 siblings, we made it through her illness and death closer than ever. I am so grateful.

I thought this gift for my siblings might further our connection. I have 2 of these completed, and need to make at least 2 or 3 more (our generations overlap).  Labor of love!!

Our February/March W2CB Challenge is open through March 1. Details can be found here. Hope to see your card/project in the gallery.

W2CB #38: Celebrations

Bobbi here with our February/March Words 2 Craft By Challenge.

It has been said that a Scotchman has not seen the world until he has seen Edinburgh;
and I think that I may say that an American has not seen the United States
until he has seen Mardi-Gras in New Orleans. Mark Twain

If you have ever gone to New Orleans during Mardi Gras season, you would understand. With wall to wall people, colorful costumes, beads and other items thrown from the Crewe floats, it is quite the spectacle. I actually caught a "Mardi Bra".  The parades early in the season are general celebrations, while the parades and balls held during the last few days are more traditional.

Let's see what our I-Team has come up with for inspiration:

Penny chose to use the traditional green, purple and gold Mardi Gras colors:
Marty has a fun nod to the indulgent side of Mardi Gras:
Annie used traditional Mardi Gras colors for a cheery birthday celebration:
Sybrina took a more subtle approach with her birthday card:
I went with a nod to Mardi Gras "fuel":

Up for grabs is a My Favorite Things stamp set to help you celebrate even more occasions!

Our challenge runs February 8 - March 1.  Share your Celebrations HERE!!!
